West Coast Endoscopy

Patient Information Summary Sheet

We request that you read and follow these instructions prior to your procedure.

  • If you are scheduled for an upper Endoscopy, you are allowed to eat up to 6 hrs. prior to the time of your scheduled procedure.

  • If you are scheduled for a colonoscopy, you are allowed clear liquids ONLY, up to 2 hrs. prior to the time of your scheduled procedure.

  • Bring a list of all medications with your.

  • Take a bath or shower.

  • Notify your physician immediately if there is any change in your physical condition (i.e. fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or respiratory infection).

  • You will be required to have an adult take you home at the time of discharge. YOU MIST NOT USE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION (buses, taxis, etc.).

  • Have a good night's rest.

  • Brush your teeth, clean your dentures, use a mouth wash, if desired, but DO NOT DRINK ANY WATER.

  • Do not bring jewelry, money or valuables with your to the Center, we will not assume responsibility for these items.

  • Remember to wear comfortable clothing.

  • Arrive at the Center at your pre-scheduled time. Enter through the main entrance. If you are less than 8 years of age and unmarried, you must have a parent or legal guardian to sign a consent for your procedure.

  • Please limit the number of persons accompanying you to one or two. Please do not bring children with you as we do not have facilities to supervise them.
